Currie Building

Moore County - Carthage, NC

Constructed in the late 1960s, the Currie Building was used as a general office space by Moore County. The original scope of work for this project was to design a new 3-stop elevator in the center of the building with minimum interior improves. Working with the owner, the scope of work expanded to address energy usage, handicapped accessibility for the building entrances, and toilets, roof replacement, addition of exterior wall insulation, window replacement, a new HVAC system, plumbing renovations, upgrades to the electrical system, and to the security/fire alarm systems. New flooring, ceilings, paint, doors and frames were also included. The renovation updated the appearance of the building, and the energy efficiency upgrades reduced the energy cost of the Currie Building by fifty percent.
