Moore County Court House

Carthage, NC

This project required the design and construction of a new 2-stop elevator and a public access addition to the existing courthouse. The scope of work also included the conversion of 6,400 square feet of the basement level into new parole offices, a family courtroom, and file storage. Renovations included addressing handicap accessibility issues in two of the existing courtrooms and renovation and placement of new offices for the Clerk of Court. A new building boiler, HVAC controls, fire alarm, and security equipment were all part of the scope of work. Since the building was occupied during construction, creative construction management was critical in order to work with the court schedules and ensure public safety. ESPA worked closely with the contractor and Moore County officials to ensure that court was conducted without interruption, and public safety was maintained.
